During the 1950s our relations from Sale in Manchester came to visit us each Summer. They loved Gower and several of them have holidayed there in adult life. My mother's late cousin Vera who she grew up with after the First World War usually stayed at our house with her three sons Martin, Dudley and Roger who are now in their 60s. All three made the journey from Manchester to Thurcaston Church on the 30th September remembering with affection the happy times we had together as children.
